We try to anticipate questions you might have about our SERVICES and provide the answers here. If you need additional information send email to info@planetswim.org and one of our team members will get back to you within 24 hrs.

How do you determine which class is best for my child upon sign up?

Before determining which class is the best fit for a child, our lesson coordinator will need some background information on the child. Once that information is collected we will take in consideration the age and swimming background to match with a group of swimmers that are in similar learning stages. If a child is misplaced in a group, our instructors will notify our lesson coordinator and arrangements will be made.

How long are classes?

Each class is 40 minutes long.

How many children are in a class?

It depends on the type of class your child is enrolled. Our group lesson has 4 children and 1 instructor, our semi-private has 2 children and 1 instructor and the private lesson is one-on-one.

How many times per week should my child swim?

While recognizing that for each child is different, majority of our swimmers attend classes twice a week, however we do have many who comes once a week.


5.

How long will it take my child to learn how to swim?

It varies from one child to another. Keep in mind that swimming is an individual process and it is developed over time. At Planet Swim we focus on providing each child the ability to learn on his or her own pace while focusing on improvement that will get them to the next level.

What does my child need to bring to swim class?

A swim suit and towel is good enough. However, we also recommend the use of swim goggles and in some cases swim cap. Children who are not potty trained are required to wear a swim diaper. For your convenience, we do offer these products at our swimshop at our Sawgrass location.


7.

Does Planet Swim offer adult classes?

Yes. However, due to scheduling, Adult classes are usually private or semi-private.


8.

What if my child's classmates are more (or less) advanced?

If the class is not the right fit our lesson coordinator will do her best to find a more appropriate class for your child and will contact you directly with better fitting class options for your child.

Does Planet Swim have a swim team?

Yes. Planet Swim Aquatics is our year-round competitive swim team. For more information, please visit us at www.planetswimaquatics.comor email us at info@planetswim.org.

Can I sign up for classes at any time?

Yes. One can sign-up for lessons anytime during the month. If there is a spot available you can take that spot anytime and we will simply pro-rate your tuition for that given month.


11.

Is there a registration fee?

Yes. At Planet Swim School we do charge an annual registration fee of $40.00. Registrations are good for a 12 month period and is due before the 1stlesson. If you are calling to enroll your child on lessons, be sure to provide our billing department with credit card information so that we can process the registration fee and secure your spot.

Do you have a waiting list?

Although we do our best to accommodate every child in the schedule, sometimes we do not have spots available. In that case, we will place your child on a waiting list and will contact you immediately after a spot is open.


13.

How do I discontinue enrollment?

In order to discontinue enrollment, please send an email to info@planetswim.orgrequesting to place a hold on your account. Please, note that we need a 2 weeks written notification in order to process your request. This will prevent us from charging your account and offer the spot to another child that might be placed on the waiting list.

What happens if my child is sick and needs to stay out of the water for an extended period of time?

At what point is my child’s class registration confirmed?

Your registration is confirmed once you have provided payment information and you have received a confirmation email or phone call from our Lesson Coordinator indicating that your child has been placed in the lesson.

What if we want to stop and take a break from swim lessons?

That’s no problem. We simply require a 2 week written notice to info@planetswim.orgstating that you wish to ‘freeze’ your account. Please, note that freezing your account will automatically release your child’s spot in the class.

How does Planet Swim School bill for classes?

Invoices are sent out on the 21stof each month and tuition is billed by the 1stof each month on a perpetual basis. Your class day and time are reserved unless you wish to switch or discontinue enrollment. All holidays and ‘no class’ days will be deducted accordingly.


18.

What are my payment options?

We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. We also accept payment by check and cash, however, every member is required to leave a credit card on file upon registering. If check or cash payment is not received by the 1stof the month, the credit card on file will be charged to avoid a late charge fee. Payments received after the 3rdof the month will incur a $20.00 late charge fee. If submitting payment by check, please make checks payable to Planet Swim LLC.


19.

What is your refund policy?

Planet Swim School does not issue refunds. All credit given are class credits which are posted to your family’s account and can be used at anytime within a one year period.


20.

My child is not potty trained, does he/she needs to use a swim diaper?

Yes. Not using a diaper often let accidents leak into the pool. Using a diaper is a Health Department recommendation and most swim schools across the country have recently adopted to this policy.


21.

Is this really that big a deal? How often is this an issue?

Yes. It happens enough that we get frequent complaints over last-minute lesson cancelations. These cancelations disappoint our students and their families, as it disrupt the learning process for other children.


22.

Does Planet Swim School have a make-up policy for missed classes?

Yes. Each swimmer is allowed to make-up one class per month unless the class was cancelled due to weather or if the pool was closed. In this case, parents should arrange the make-up class day and time directly with the instructor.
